Local Information

LOCAL GUIDE

We have prepared a "local guide" to Santander, which you can find here. The associated map can be found here.

PRINTING POSTERS

If you want to print your poster locally, there is a print shop close to the University of Cantabria: "Echevarría Suministros de Oficina SL” (https://www.echevarriasuministros.com/reprografia/, located here). Note that we don’t have any “official” relationship or agreement with this print shop, so please contact them well in advance to confirm details.

These prices may not be up to date, but an A0 poster should cost around 22 EUR on normal paper, and 33 EUR in higher-quality paper (they call it “Cartulina"). They said the second option is the one most people choose. The poster can be sent in advance to echevarriasuministros@gmail.com. It needs to be in PDF format and you should indicate which type of paper you would like: “Normal" or “Cartulina".

The time taken to print the poster may vary, so you may want to send your poster in plenty of time to have it printed (and perhaps enquire about when it can be picked up).

PUBLIC TRANSPORTATION IN SANTANDER

In Santander, the local bus service is provided by Servicio Municipal de Transportes Urbanos de Santander. Some bus timetables may not appear on Google Maps, so you should check Moovit for full information.

  • The bus costs 1.20 euros. You should be able to pay directly with a contactless bank card (board at the front of the bus).
  • 10 Trip TUS BonoBus cards can be purchased at tobacco shops and some newstands for 6 euros.
  • Depending on the bus line, the bus can run between five to twenty minute apart.

The city of Santander provides electric bicycle rental throughout the city.
