There are different ways to use SIXTE for the workshop. A detailed description of the different options can be found here. We recommend installing SIXTE locally, either via a regular installation or from a Dockerfile.
- To use SIXTE on your own machine, please make sure you are using the current version and that it is installed and running correctly before the workshop. Due to the number of participants, we will unfortunately be unable to resolve installation issues during the workshop. You will also need to use up-to-date instrument files. You can find all of these on the SIXTE webpage.
- If you have any problems with the installation, write to sixte-support@lists.fau.de for assistance.
To inspect FITS files and images, we recommend installing HEASoft and ds9 locally on your machine.
